Another welcome addition to Quezon City Library services was inaugurated at Quezon Memorial Circle last May 17. It is called Little Free Library (LFL). LFL is an international NGO whose mission is to promote literacy by building mini libraries/ book exchanges. The book exchange concept is relatively new concept to Filipinos: take one, share another book. It is a big a challenge to endeavor in this kind of project but with tarpaulins explaining the mechanics of LFL and by doing a series of planned activities like book club meetings, poetry reading and storytelling, the challenges would be addressed. We are also in harmony with LFL’s mission, to build a community who reads. The QCLIC is looking for other sites for the LFL and future stewards of the LFLs.en_US
