The Quezon City Public Library (QCPL) has linked up with the QC Division of City Schools in putting up pocket libraries in all 142 public schools. When school librarians attended the Little Free Library (LFL) forum held at QCPL last July 14, no less than the SDO LDRMC Supervisor Ms. Heidee Ferrer and SDO Librarian Ms. Liza Javier led in pledging that the school libraries put up their own LFLs. A month after the forum, 5 schools were able to set their pocket libraries, these are San Francisco ES, Cong. Calalay Memorial ES, Tandang Sora National HS, Pura Kalaw ES and Culiat HS. A lot of schools is calendared to be organized. This collaboration tries to address the problem of pupils’ lack of access to books and to promote use of libraries.en_US
